Yes! FREE cancellations for any reason & rescheduling is possible pending availability up to 24 hours prior to your departure time so we can give other people a chance to book in your place.

Please arrive & check in at the boat, no later than 5 minutes before your boat excursion departure time on the Whitianga Wharf on the inside (land side) of the floating pontoon.

Safety is our number #1 priority. If Weather or Sea Conditions cause your trip to be cancelled or limited, full or partial refunds will be available or rescheduling depending on your schedule & availability may be possible.

The “Thrills” tour has high speed manoeuvres, both options visit the best spots & wildlife possible for the conditions on the day, including the option to snorkel. Cave Cruzer visits more spots & sights on any day.

We have maximum limit of 12 passengers on each tour.

Cave Cruzer holds a marine mammal watch permit which allows us to get closer for longer if penguins, seals, dolphin or Orca are seen.

Snorkelling is optional at the best spot on the day for about 10mins, booking not required, we only provide mask & snorkel no cost. No fins or wetsuits due to sizing issues, we discourage the use of wetsuits due to time & storage restrictions unless you are already wearing it. Note – it is not worth snorkelling at the Cove as there is not much there to see under water.

No. This is not part of any boat tour.  A lot of the time it is not safe to land due to sea conditions. It may be possible to get onto the beach if you book a private but I cannot beach the boat so would get wet up at least up to your knees. Cathedral Cove is approximately 175 kilometres (about 109 miles) from Auckland. However, with Cave Cruzer’s convenient boat tours departing from Whitianga, you can easily access this stunning destination without the need for the added walk.

Access is reasonably easy, with a few needing assistance. The boat is not wheelchair friendly but some people with disabilities have enjoyed the tour. Check pictures of the boat at the wharf & please don’t hesitate to contact me if you are unsure.

Despite the open boat in most cases everyone stays dry. Sometimes when we have a strong cross wind it can get a bit wet but I do everything possible to keep everyone as dry as possible.

Typically people pay when booking, however there is an AfterPay option.

Remember you can cancel for “FREE” or reschedule yourself  by clicking on the “Change Booking / Cancel Your Booking” just under the picture on your confirmation email any time up to 24hrs prior to your departure time.

I have 2 tour options but only 1 boat, e.g. if a Cruise is booked at 10am, the Thrills will be blocked out, so please check the other option or times that may suit you. Both tours include the same places & snorkel on the day.

If you still can’t see an option & session that suits please contact me & I may be able to create a session that works for you.

If you book a private tour, you can customise it to suit your desire inside of the 2hr period, as long as the conditions are safe & within my usual activities e.g. gathering of seafood or taking dogs would not be acceptable. If in doubt check first.

You can also book an extended tour by arrangement if my schedule allows.

Yes I have a place for rock jumping when the conditions are safe on the day. There are several different heights depending on your ability, it may sound silly but you must be able to swim as it at least 5 metres deep.

Yes this is possible but not guaranteed

No, I have good selection of lifejackets available to suit passenger from 10kgs up.

Foam type for 10kgs – 40kgs, Inflatable type for 40kgs up.

This tour is not suitable for children under 10kgs.
